Ongoing Management
Fertilization
Add a thin layer of compost around plants each Spring to feed.
Pruning / Cutting Back
Deadhead flowers when they start to fade in mid-Summer, trimming the stem back to the base of the flower.
Propagation
Propagate by division in Spring.
Divide plants every 3-5 years:
- Lift clumps in early Spring or Fall
- Remove any dead stems from the center of the clump
- Replant divisions elsewhere
