Registering Your Bees
Overview
Depending on where you live, registering your bee apiary may be required by law.
In Ohio where I live, it is required to register each apiary with the state's Department of Agriculture. In speaking with the state apiarist, she noted that the purpose for recording this with the state is to help in the event of an outbreak which puts colonies in the area at risk (i.e., issues like American foulbrood).
